  18. PAINT IT! 2.0 INSTRUCTIONS

  21. This is a colouring book for kids, it has loads Icons for you to press
  22. and each has it`s own unique sound!!. 
  23.  
  24. This is the cut down version, so it only has 5 pictures, the full program
  25. has loads for you to colour in!!!!, (keep reading, to find out how to get
  26. the full program).

  49. An AMIGA Computer With WB 2.0 or above
  50. 1 MEG of Ram or more

  55. HOW TO CHOOSE A COLOUR/PATTERN/SOLID
  56.  
  57. To choose a colour, just click on the you want (with your left mouse
  58. button) and then the one you select will be shown in a box, at the bottom of
  59. the icon bar.
  60.  
  61. To choose a pattern, just click on the one you want, and then the colour you 
  62. want the pattern to be, it is also shown in the box, at the bottom of the 
  63. icon bar.

  65. To get back to solid fills, (Solid means, no pattern) just click on the
  66. SOLID Icon.

  70. HOW TO FILL IN AN AREA OF THE SCREEN
  71.  
  72. To fill in an area of the screen, just move the mouse over the part you want 
  73. to colour, and click with your left mouse button.

  77. HOW TO REMOVE THE TOOL BAR 
  78.  
  79. Press the Right Mouse Button to toggle the Icon Bar ON/OFF.
  80. Or press the Space bar to do the same as above.

  84. HOW TO LOAD A PICTURE
  85.  
  86. To load a picture, click on the icon named LOAD PIC with your left mouse
  87. button.
  88.  
  89. A File Requester will then appear, with loads of buttons displayed to
  90. the right of it.....
  91.

  93.      OK: This loads the picture that you have seleted.
  94.  
  95.  CANCEL: This returns you back to the program without loading a picture.
  96.  
  97. Don't worry about the other ones!.
  98.

  100. All you need to do, to load a picture is....
  101.  
  102. (1) Make sure the Paint It disk is in the drive.
  103. (2) To select a picture..., look for a picture you
  104.     want to load, and click on it with you left mouse button.  Now
  105.     click on the OK icon and the picture will load in.

  109. HOW TO SAVE A PICTURE
  110.  
  111. When you click on the SAVE PIC Icon you will get an identical requester to
  112. the one you get with the LOAD PIC Icon.
  113.  
  114. All you need to do, to save a picture is....
  115.  
  116. (1) Have your saves disk in the drive, that has a directory called 
  117.     (PICTURES) on it (If you don't know how to put a directory on the disk 
  118.     goto Creating A Saves Disk, on this document).
  119.  
  120. (2) Click on Save Pic 
  121. (3) Type the name of the picture you want to save (with .PIC on the end of
  122.     it, e.g..  CAR.PIC).
  123. (4) Click on OK
  124. (5) WAIT!!

  128. HOW TO CREATE SAVES DISK
  129.  
  130. (1) Load Workbench.
  131. (2) Put your formatted disk in the disk drive.
  132. (3) Double click on it's icon with your left mouse button.
  133. (4) Select the window that has just opened (So that it's blue).
  134. (5) Press the right mouse button and go to the top of the screen to the menu.
  135. (6) Goto WINDOW and down to NEW DRAWER
  136. (7) When you let go it will display and requester with UNTITLED1
  137. (8) Delete this and type PICTURES
  138. (9) DONE!

  142. HOW TO UNDO AFTER A MISTAKE!
  143.  
  144. If you make a mistake, you will need to use the icon named OOOPS!, this
  145. button will undo anything you last did.

  149. HOW TO CLEAR THE SCREEN
  150.  
  151. To clear the screen, click on the CLEAR ICON and then on YES OF COURSE I
  152. DO!.  You have chooice of two clears.
  153.  
  154. (1) ALL OF IT!
  155.  
  156. This clears everything that is on the screen to WHITE
  157.  
  158. (2) JUST THE COLOURS!
  159.  
  160. This only works if you have loaded a picture.
  161.  
  162. This clears all of the colours you have added to your picture (But not the
  163. black outline of the picture, so that you can start again.

  167. HOW TO ADJUST THE COLOURS
  168.  
  169. If you don`t like the 32 colours that are on the tool bar, and you
  170. want to change them......
  171.  
  172. Firstly click on the PALETTE Icon.
  173.  
  174. On this screen are three sliders each one has a letter under it R, G or
  175. B,these stand for R/RED, G/GREEN & B/BLUE, easy!.
  176.  
  177. So to change a colour, click on one of the colours from the icon bar, and 
  178. youwill see it appear in a box, on the palette requester. To change this to a
  179. Red colour, you will need G & B right up to the top and R right down the
  180. bottom. Fiddle about with this as it takes a lot of practise to get the 
  181. right colour.

  183. To change the palette back to the original colours, just click on the
  184. DEFAULT icon.
  185.  
  186. To get back to the Icon bar, just press the RETURN icon.

  190. HOW TO USE THE DRAWING TOOLS

  192. First click on the icon marked D, and these new Icons will appear.

  200. Click on it's icon and choose a colour, draw to your hearts content.

  240. This, as I have said before is the cut down version of PAINT IT!, so if you
  241. want to get the full program & receive all of these goodies....

  245. (1) Loads more Pictures for you to colour in!
  246. (2) Future Upgrades to PAINT IT!
  247. (3) TEST IT! (The Joystick/Mouse/Memory/Disk Checker).

  250. (6) A Dice Simulator (for when you loose your dice!)
